Ranch Pickles

This simple ranch pickles recipe is one of my favorite 2-ingredient recipes. All I do is take a jar of pickle spears and add a packet of dry ranch seasoning. Give it a quick stir to dissolve the seasoning, then store in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before serving.

Once you’ve made this ranch dill pickles recipe, you will come back to it again and again. You can use any shape of dill pickle, whole, spears or sliced into lengths or rounds.

I always have a jar of ranch pickles ready in the fridge to enjoy any day of the week. However, they are a must for any cookout or barbecue, and I also love to take a jar along with me on summer picnics.

Ranch pickles recipe ingredients

  • PICKLES: I use a jar of Mt Olive Kosher Dill Spears to make this pickle, but feel free to use your favorite brand of pickles, or even your own homemade pickles!
  • SEASONING: I use Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning, but you can swap this for your favorite dry ranch seasoning.

How to make Ranch Pickles

Pour the ranch seasoning into the jar with the pickles.

Stir the seasoning into the brine slightly, then place the lid on top and lightly shake the jar to fully mix.

Allow the seasoning to soak in the pickles the for at least 24 hours before serving.

Flavor variations

  • Dill Pickles – I’ve used pickle spears in this recipe, but you could also use whole pickles or sliced pickle strips or rounds.
  • Other Pickles – Swap the dill pickles for other vegetables like pickled cabbage, cauliflower, onion or mixed pickles.
  • Seasoning – Add in some other dried seasonings like mustard seeds, dill seeds, coriander seeds, peppercorns (any color), red pepper flakes.
  • Fresh herbs – Add in some fresh herbs like dill weed, thyme, tarragon, parsley or basil.

Serving suggestion

Ranch pickles can be served in a variety of different ways. Enjoy them sliced up and served in your favorite sandwich, salad, slider or burger. I love them in these Ham & Swiss Sliders, Coca Cola Burgers, Pulled Pork Slider or to top your Fish Sandwich.

Slice up the pickles and serve them with other vegetable crudities and your favorite dip, try my French Onion Dip. They also make a great dip, chopped up and added to my Dill Pickle Dip recipe.

Recipe hints & tips

  • As the jar of pickles has been opened you will need to store it in the refrigerator.
  • Allow the ranch seasoning to work into the pickles for at least 24 hours. Flavor will improve the longer you can leave the pickles to sit.
  • Once opened these pickles will store in their jar, in the refrigerator for 2-3 months.
  • Always ensure that the pickles are completely submerged in the pickling brine and seal the lid tightly after every use.
