Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
Chocolate Chip Cookies are a FAVORITE in our home.
When you add in chocolate candies, the kids consider them to be MAGIC Cookie Bars.
These are great to make with beginner bakers, so they can learn about mixing the ingredients, measuring, cook times, etc. because it doesn’t require them to scoop out evenly sized balls to bake.
You can easily interchange the flavors by mixing up the candies used, add in marshmallows, etc. – whatever your taste buds are craving.
When serving at a holiday or special occasion, you can even cut out shapes with cookie cutters after they’re baked, then decorate with icing, sprinkles, etc.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare a 9×13 baking dish by lining with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar.
Beat until smooth.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract.
Beat until well combined.
Add the flour, salt, and baking soda.
Stir until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Top the batter with red and green chocolate candies.
Bake at 350 for approx 28 – 35 minutes.
*NOTE: PLEASE be mindful when baking, and check for doneness before the max baking time.
Often, bake times can vary for many reasons, including different oven types, altitude, etc.
Allow to cool about 10 minutes before serving.
Slice into bars, serve, and enjoy!

These bars look delicious. I think they're easier than cookies.
