FAQs
Bang bang sauce is made up of mayonnaise, spicy chili sauce, sugar, and salt, although there are many other recipes for this sauce, this one is exceptional.
Traditionally this dish is made by tenderizing the chicken by hitting it with a meat mallet and the resulting sound is how it got its name.
Variations
Meal plans don’t always end up being exactly what you cook that week. If you decide you want to make this bang bang chicken recipe but don’t want (or have time) to go to the store, here are some ways you can still make it.
Instead of chicken wings, you can use boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into bite size pieces.
If you’re out of the spicy chili bang bang chicken sauce, you can use sriracha sauce.
If you don’t have an air fryer, (and can’t make air fryer recipes) you can do this same recipe in the oven at 400 degrees. Be sure to flip them halfway through. You may need to cook for up to 10 minutes longer. Check the temperature and make sure they’re at least 160 degrees before removing them from the oven. Allow them to cool because they’ll be very hot.

My sincerest apologies! It appears there was a glitch with the recipe card overnight. I deleted and reinstalled it this morning and it's working now :) There is a JUMP TO RECIPE button at the top of the post, if you click it, it should take you right to the recipe where the seasonings are listed. Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to visit my blog!
