Easy Ravioli Lasagna

I first saw this Easy Ravioli Lasagna dish on TikTok, it’s one of those popular recipes that trend on TikTok because they are super simple to make and use very few ingredients.

Easy Cheesy Ravioli Lasagna is made using ground beef, cheese stuffed ravioli, a jar of your favorite marinara pasta sauce and some shredded mozzarella. It can be prepared in just 5 minutes, then the oven does all the hard work.

If you were really pushed for time, you could even prepare this 4-ingredient dinner dish earlier in the day, store in the refrigerator, ready to place in the oven later in the day.

I like to serve any pasta dish with a side of garlic bread or crusty bread, perfect for mopping up all the pasta sauce.

Recipe ingredients

  • MEAT: I used 1 pound of ground beef to serve.
  • TOMATO SAUCE: for ease use a jar of your favorite store-bought pasta sauce, of your own homemade tomato pasta sauce in this recipe.
  • RAVIOLI: I used a 25 ounce package of frozen cheese ravioli.
  • CHEESE: top the lasagna with mozzarella cheese.

Flavor variations

  • I made the lasagna with ground beef, but you could also use ground lamb or pork, or try a combination of ground meat like beef and pork.
  • I’ve used a cheese stuffed ravioli as I wanted to make a cheesy ravioli lasagne, but you can use any variety or flavor of stuffed ravioli.
  • Add extra vegetables to the tomato sauce, some diced onions, zucchini, celery or eggplant.
  • Stir some minced fresh garlic through the tomato sauce.

What to serve with Ravioli Lasagna

FAQs

What is the difference between ravioli and lasagna?

Ravioli is a stuffed pasta, usually square in shape. Whereas lasagna is a wide sheet of pasta noodle, used to layer between sauces.

How to store leftover ravioli lasagna?

Store leftover lasagna in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Then heat up gently in a warm oven until heated through. You may want to add some fresh shredded cheese to liven the dish up.

Can you freeze ravioli lasagna?

Ravioli is a great prep-ahead dish and freezes really well. Assemble the dish in an oven-proof dish, right up to the point of placing it in the oven (the end of step 7 in the recipe card). Set aside to cool completely, before covering the dish with a lid or a thick layer of aluminum foil. Place the dish into the freezer for up to 3 months.

Cook from frozen, place in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees F, adding an extra 15-20 minutes to the total cook time as the dish is frozen.
