These Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Treats are a fun and easy treat to make with your kids. Perfect for holiday parties, school snacks, and bake sales!

Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Treats

My kids LOVE Rice Krispie treats, and now that they’ve had some experience in the kitchen they really enjoy helping me make treats.

They have always enjoyed themed treats for holidays and special events, so it was a natural fit for us to make Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Treats with my heart shaped cookie cutters.

I’ve linked to most of the items used so if you’re unfamiliar with them or can’t find an ingredient locally, the online source is handy for you to use.

A tip that I use is to shop right AFTER the holiday for the themed cookie cutters and even the sprinkles, etc (check the expiration date!) and buy them when they’re on clearance.

I do this every holiday, and store them in a container I have specifically for this purpose.

When the holiday rolls around again the next year, I don’t have to pay full price for cookie cutters, etc. 🙂

What is needed to make these Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Treats:

To begin, gather all of your ingredients so you have them out.

I prefer to measure everything out, to make it easier as I progress through the recipe, but you can wait and measure as you go, if you prefer.

Melt Butter in sauce pan over medium heat. Add marshmallows and mix until melted.

Remove from heat, add food coloring and mix well.

Stir in Rice Krispies.

Pour Mixture into a buttered 9×13 baking pan and press firmly all around.

Sprinkle with crystals and confetti hearts.

Let cool, about 10-15 minutes.

While those are cooling you can make your “arrow”.

First cut a triangle shape out of a mini marshmallow then insert it into the end of the toothpick.

Next, add a dab of edible adhesive to the top of a mini marshmallow and stick on the confetti heart.

Now, take your cooled rice krispies and cut out your hearts with the cookie cutter.

Insert toothpicks on each side at an angle.

Tail on one side and heart on the other.

This becomes your arrow.

They are ready to serve!
