My kids LOVE Rice Krispie treats, and now that they’ve had some experience in the kitchen they really enjoy helping me make treats.

They have always enjoyed themed treats for holidays and special events, so it was a natural fit for us to make Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Treats with my heart shaped cookie cutters.

I’ve linked to most of the items used so if you’re unfamiliar with them or can’t find an ingredient locally, the online source is handy for you to use.

A tip that I use is to shop right AFTER the holiday for the themed cookie cutters and even the sprinkles, etc (check the expiration date!) and buy them when they’re on clearance.

I do this every holiday, and store them in a container I have specifically for this purpose.

When the holiday rolls around again the next year, I don’t have to pay full price for cookie cutters, etc. 🙂

Valentine's Day Rice Krispie TreatsWhat is needed to make these Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Treats:

To begin, gather all of your ingredients so you have them out.

I prefer to measure everything out, to make it easier as I progress through the recipe, but you can wait and measure as you go, if you prefer.

Stir in Rice Krispies.

Pour Mixture into a buttered 9×13 baking pan and press firmly all around.

Sprinkle with crystals and confetti hearts.

Let cool, about 10-15 minutes.

While those are cooling you can make your “arrow”.

I hadn't noticed at first that you cut the marshmallows that go in the back of the arrow. That was a nice touch. My rice krispies don't make it into heart shapes. Sometimes, they don't really make it into squares. They just get pulled off in chunks and eaten.
