Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treat

Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats are very simple to make, requiring just 6 ingredients!

To begin, gather & measure out your six ingredients.

You’ll need Rice Krispies (or any cereal of choice!), Butter, Marshmallows, Pumpkin Spice, Pumpkin Puree, and cinnamon.

In a large pan or pot, melt your butter. Once the butter is melted, add in your marshmallows. Continue to stir the marshmallows until they are melted and incorporated into the butter.

Once the marshmallows are completely melted, add in the pumpkin purée, pumpkin pie spice, and cinnamon. Mix well.

Add in the Rice Krispie cereal.

Mix well. 

Once everything is incorporated, transfer from the pot to a greased, 13×9 pan. 

Using parchment paper on top of the treats, press to flatten. 

Once cooled, cut into squares, and serve!

HOW TO STORE PUMPKIN SPICE RICE KRISPIE TREATS:

If you’re storing in the pan, just cover tightly.

If storing individual pieces, I prefer to wrap individually in plastic wrap so they don’t stick together, and are easy to grab and go.

The traditional way to serve Pumpkin Spice Rice Krispie treats is to cut them into bars – simple!

However, you can also easily use cookie cutters to cut them into different shapes before they set OR roll them into balls.

Even better, cut some into shape and use the remaining parts to roll into small balls:)

***TIP*** If rolling into shapes by hand, heavily coat your hands with vegetable oil so the krispie treats don’t stick to your hands & fingers!

Don’t be afraid to let your creativity shine, by adding icing and other toppings/decorations!

Ingredients

  • • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • • 6 cups rice krispie cereal
  • • 1/2 tsp . cinnamon
  • • 1/2 tsp . pumpkin pie spice
  • • 1/8 cup pumpkin puree
  • • 3 Tbsp . butter

Instructions

  1. Spread your pumpkin purée between a few sheets of paper towels.
  2. Let it sit for about 30 minutes.
  3. This will remove a majority of the moisture. 
  4. In a large pan or pot, melt your butter.
  5. Once the butter is melted, add in your marshmallows.
  6. Continue to stir the marshmallows until they are melted and incorporated into the butter.
  7. Once the marshmallows are completely melted, add in the pumpkin purée, pumpkin pie spice, and cinnamon.
  8. Mix well.
  9. Add in the Rice Krispie cereal.
  10. Mix well. 
  11. Once everything is incorporated, transfer from the pot to a greased, 13x9 pan. 
  12. Using parchment paper on top of the treats, press to flatten. 
  13. Once cooled, cut into squares, and serve!
