Frozen Dog Bone Treats
Our sweet dog, Cuddles, has not been feeling well lately. She was recently diagnosed with Addison’s Disease and has had a multitude of vet visits recently. We use Banfield, inside of PetSmart, for veterinary services, and are fortunate to have an AMAZING team of veterinarians and staff that adore our Cuddles and take excellent care of her. We also learned that some of the symptoms she was having that were unrelated to the Addisons, was due to a food allergy to chicken. It is VERY hard to find food and treats without any chicken in them. Cuddles also gets an upset stomach from time to time, sometimes due to medication, other times due to illness, and we’ve found that Pumpkin and Banana are foods she’ll eat even when not feeling well and both also help her tummy to feel better faster. So, I’ve been making her some Frozen Dog Bone Treats with Banana and Pumpkin. I typically double this recipe so I can use the entire can of pumpkin, but you can adjust it to fit your own needs or use as is. I hope your furry friend enjoys these as much as Cuddles does!
Frozen Dog Bone Treats Ingredients
Blend all ingredients
Pour into a non-stick shallow pan
Plan out and place the mini dog treats to fit within your cookie cutter shape
Freeze Pan (approx. 2 hours). Let pan thaw approx. 10 minutes for easier cutting. Use cookie cutter to cut out the dog bones.
Keep treats frozen until ready to enjoy.
Frozen Dog Bone Treats
- Dog Bone Shaped Cookie Cutter
- Mini Dog Treats
- 1 Banana
- 1/2 of a 15 oz can of Pumpkin
- 12 oz plain greek yogurt
- 8 oz applesauce
- 1/3 cup of water
- Blend all ingredients
- Pour into a non-stick shallow pan
- Plan out and place the mini dog treats to fit within your cookie cutter shape
- Freeze Pan (approx. 2 hours). Let pan thaw approx. 10 minutes for easier cutting. Use cookie cutter to cut out the dog bones.
- Keep treats frozen until ready to enjoy.
