Snickerdoodles

My crew pretty much love ALL cookies, but, Snickerdoodles are their top favorite. They are learning to make recipes like this one on their own. They make cookies frequently, and claim it’s to “practice” but really I think they just want more Snickerdoodles! These are delicious any time of the year, but especially great during the fall season. They’re sure to be a hit at any Fall festival, bake sale, Halloween Party, Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Cookie Swap, or Christmas Dinner.

Preheat oven to 375.

Combine sugar and butter in a mixing bowl.

Once the mixture is nice and smooth, add the eggs and vanilla.

Beat or mix again until a smooth consistency.

In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients.

Slowly stir those into the butter mixture until the cookie dough is well mixed.

Mix the sugar and cinnamon for the topping either in a bowl or on a plate.

I like to do this on a plate and then roll the cookie dough balls through it.

Roll batter into 2-inch size balls. Place on cookie sheet.

Press each ball of dough down to flatten.

Bake for 8-10 minutes.

This is an easy recipe for Snickerdoodles and can easily be made a little different by replacing the cinnamon topping with some crushed pecans

  7. Oh, Snickerdoodles… So good, but so hard (for me) to describe! 🙂 This recipe looks like a really nice, basic one to keep on-hand. …My knowledge of Snickerdoodles is pretty limited, so I was surprised to see in the Amazon ads/links that there’s at least one entire book devoted to different S’doodle recipes!
