Homemade French Fries & Easy Fry Sauce
This Easy Fry Sauce Recipe is the perfect topping for your favorite Homemade French Fries. It’s so simple to whip together in just a few minutes, and also tastes delicious on Grilled Burgers, Cheeseburger Pie, Rice, Hashbrowns and so many other great recipes including this Smoked Burger Recipe!
These fries would be perfect served with some authentic Chicago hot dogs. From the Vienna frankfurters and neon green relish, to the squishy steamed poppy seed buns and pickled green tomatoes, they’re absolutely unique and delicious!
A basic fry sauce is just mayonnaise and ketchup with a few other seasonings. But this fry sauce combines mayonnaise and sour cream for a creamier texture. Ketchup adds the familiar fry sauce taste, but additional ingredients take it over the top! Over the next week, I’ll be sharing two additional Homemade Dipping Sauces, all three pictured below.

Peel the potatoes, removing any eyes.
Cut the potatoes into 1/2-inch-wide strips with a waffle cutter.
Rinse the strips under cold water, until it runs clear.
Pat dry with paper towels.
Refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
Pat dry with paper towels.
*It’s VERY important to know that if you add wet potatoes to hot oil it can cause it to spatter and burn you, or even catch fire. PLEASE ensure they are not wet!
Pour vegetable oil to a depth of 4 inches in a Deep Fryer (or Dutch Oven), heated to 350°.
Fry the potato strips, in batches, until lightly golden, approx 5 minutes per batch.
Remove from oil with a proper strainer (my Deep Fryer came with one), and place onto a plate covered with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
Salt to preference (seasoned salt is great) and serve hot!
