I shared this image with y’all a couple of months ago, when I first discovered how delicious Hood Calorie Countdown is, and now I’m excited to share with you the positive impact it’s had for myself and my family. We’re currently in the last stages of completing a huge move, and I am feeling fantastic. With so much going on around us, it’s nice to have healthy meal ideas and ingredients readily available, so we can stay on track with our lifestyle goals. Moving is hard and stressful. It’s really easy and tempting to want to eat out or go through a drive thru for something quick and easy for dinner. We did that a few times while we were on the road, and we ALL noticed a difference in how we felt, even the kids were asking for me to grab things from the Supermarket instead of a restaurant.
It’s so helpful that I was able to find the Reduced Fat Chocolate and Reduced Fat Regular Hood Calorie Countdown at my new local Walmart – and several Walmart’s along the way (they also offered the Whole Fat varieties). I adore the Reduced Fat Chocolate, it is so creamy and delicious with full chocolate flavor, that I don’t feel at all like I’m depriving myself, my son insists it tastes like a chocolate milkshake to him! Since a 1 cup serving has only 80 calories and 5 grams of carbs, it’s significantly healthier than soda, and more flavorful than water. With 90% less sugar versus chocolate milk, it falls right into my healthier choice guidelines.
Historically, one of my biggest obstacles in healthy eating has been eating on a regular schedule. I am always SO tempted to skip breakfast myself, often skipping lunch on busy days and just eating dinner, OR eating a light lunch and then being so exhausted at the end of the day that I feed the family dinner and skip it myself. Incorporating Hood Calorie Countdown into my diet and daily eating schedule has had a significant positive impact in improving this for me. Why? It tastes really great and I enjoy it, so I WANT to eat those meals. I am able to eat a bowl of cereal with Reduced Fat Regular Hood Calorie Countdown and some fruit for breakfast – or use it in a smoothie. At lunch, I can make a small salad or sandwich and add some Reduced Fat Chocolate Hood Calorie Countdown with it – and I feel like I’m getting a mid-day chocolatey treat. Then, because I’m eating correctly, I have more energy throughout the day, so I’m able to get more down, get in some exercise, AND have enough energy left to make dinner for the family and eat with them as well. My scale is continuing to show improvements as well, which is a much welcome bonus 🙂
One of my new favorite smoothies to make is a Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie, using Reduced Fat Chocolate Hood Calorie Countdown. By using the Hood Calorie Countdown products, I’m able to meet my dietary goals without sacrificing dairy! I hope y’all will give this Breakfast Smoothie recipe a try and that you enjoy it as much as I do!
- 2 bananas, peeled, sliced and frozen*
- 1 cup Reduced Fat Chocolate Hood Calorie Countdown
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- handful of chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup ice
To begin, peel and slice your bananas – if you do this ahead of time and freeze them, it’ll help keep the smoothie colder. Otherwise, you can use fresh, but you may need to add a bit more ice. Next, put the bananas in your blender. Add in 1 cup of Reduced Fat Chocolate Hood Calorie Countdown, 1/4 cup of your favorite brand creamy peanut butter, and about a 1/2 cup ice. Sometimes, I’ll throw in a handful of chocolate chips, for a more chocolatey flavor, but that’s optional. Process in your blender until well pureed, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
